Said to be on track for a release in the UK next month, the 9-inch touchscreen-equipped Toshiba Satellite A60-662 Battery Asus Eee PC T91 has been caught in pictures yet again, this time by UK tech site Electric Pig. Looking at what the Eee PC T91 is now, before its official release, it appears as if Asus has nearly perfected the 9-inch form factor, and considering how good the Eee PC T91 looks as both a netbook and a convertible tablet, the 10-inch Eee PC T101 is bound to be better by leaps. If you are holding off buying any more netbooks before the Eee PC T91 and T101 from Asus, then maybe the latest Eee PC T91 hands-on pictures will be enough to tide you over. Albatron, who we previously reported on for the touchscreen Tee PC, have since been working on a netbook which NetbookNews.de have spotted and captured on photo and video. NetbookNews.de give the netbook a look over and gets the hands on experience on video which you can view after the jump. The Albatron netbook features a 10.2 inch display with 1GB of RAM, Intel Atom N270 CPU, a 6 cell battery and features an ultra thin design weighing in at under 1kg. The netbook is available oshiba Satellite A65 Series Battery with a hard drive or SSD option. No word on what size the HDD is, but the SSD version is available in 8 or 16GB. With the standard netbook specs it’s likely to come with 160GB hard drive specification. No word on price or availability has been released.
Asus is said to be planning on phasing out some Eee PCs in the UK market particularly the older 7 and 9 inch series. As Asus has just released the slim 1008HA Sea Shell in the UK, this will be followed by the release of two other newer Eee PC models - the 1005 and another yet to be named 1000 netbook series along the lines of the 1000H.
Come July, Asus hopes to have only these three Eee PC offerings to the UK market. Imagine how easy it would be for consumers to decide on which of these three 10-inch netbooks all pre-loaded with Windows XP and 160GB HD to decide which one to get, right?
Following the release of the 1008HA, Asus is set to release the new thicker 1005. The Eee PC 1005 will have a removable battery with 12-month collect-and-return warranty. The Toshiba Satellite 2100 Battery Eee PC 1005 will be available for around £350.
If you’re wondering what will happen to the Eee PC 1000HE now? Well it will be one of those to be phased out by Asus despite being one of its bestselling Eee PC to date.
Chris of Netbook Reviews tipped us that he saw a product listing of the upcoming Eee PC 1008HA at Newegg.com. The product listing showed that the Eee PC 1008HA was supposed to retail for $429 at the online retailer. Also the Newegg was supposed to start shipping the Eee PC 1008HA on May 18. This was despite the fact that no US release date has been announced by Asus yet.
Interestingly, a moment after, Chris also found out the the link has been deactivated. The product page is still up, but a note was added that says, “This product is no longer available.”
Could this be a case of miscommunication on the part of Newegg and Asus? Is Asus planning to Toshiba Laptop Battery announce a new price for the Eee PC 1008HA? We’re inclined to believe that we will all find out soon.

A little over 2 months ago, Acer’sToshiba Satellite A75 Battery first 10-inch netbook went on sale on Amazon for $350 USD. This, of course, is the Acer Aspire One D150, which we’ve had the chance to review just recently. Over the weekend, its successor just became available in the Philippines, and I believe it’s going to be available in other markets across Asia (if it isn’t already) as well as Amazon and other online stores that sell netbooks very soon.
In the Philippines, I know of at least one local retailer that is already selling these netbooks, and I was informed that the AAO D150 would be phased out already in favor of this new 10-inch model. What makes the Acer Aspire One D250 so great? Well, for starters, it comes with an Intel Atom N280 processor, which has been proven to be generally faster (though only by a little) than the Atom N270 which has been the norm for netbooks for quite some time now. Besides which, you can consider the Aspire One D250 as just an Acer Aspire One D150 with a better processor and sleeker design. Some of the ports have been rearranged to be positioned evenly between the left and right sides, but the Toshiba Tecra 8000 Battery overall look and feel is basically the same.
The price Acer is asking for an Aspire One D250 is the same as the price of an Aspire One D150: 23,995 Pesos or about $507 USD. Right now, I’m a little wary if this model is really worth the upgrade/price increase, but I’ll be spending time with it later today to find out. I’ll let you know what happens then.
We’re pretty sure you still remember Acer’s 11.6 netbook which was then called Ultra. Well, apparently that Acer Netbook is now donning a new branding - Aspire One 751. Complete with full specs and a release date, Acer Germany’s site has all of a sudden displayed the Aspire One 751 on their website.
Let’s see what this new Acer netbook baby has to offer then. An Intel Atom Z520 processor paired with a US15WExpress Chipset, 2GB RAM, LED-backlit 200-nit WXGA display with 1366×768 resolution, Wi-Fi b/g and an optional Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, and triband UMTS/HSPA WWAN.
In addition, the Aspire One 751 would either have 3-cell and 6-cell Toshiba Tecra 8100 Battery with an estimated life of up to 8 hours. Said netbook is expected to arrive in the UK markets anytime this May. It would have a hefty price tag of around $518. As usual, no words yet as to when this will be available in the U.S.
What’s the best way to see if a gadget you’re about to buy (when it finally comes out) is best suited for your tastes? Look for a review of it online. The Acer AspireRevo is one such upcoming gadget that I’m sure a lot of people are looking forward to (myself included). Well, guess what, this little Ion-infused nettop from Acer has just been put through its paces by Engadget, and their full review of the machine is now available.
From Engadget’s review, the AspireRevo is touted as an affordable nettop that offers great graphics performance, but processing power that needs more oomph. It didn’t have problem playing Blu-ray and pumping out pure surround sound through its HDMI-out, but games don’t really perform as well as you would expect them to due to the severely Toshiba Tecra 9000 Battery weak processor. In case you’re still looking for more opinions, we’ll try to get our own review of the AspireRevo up in the next few weeks so watch out for it here.
With more and more netbooks being announced or released almost on a daily basis, it’s surprising to see some netbooks go over $400 when similar speced machines go for less. If you want to keep your netbook cheap and portable, Liliputing have put together a list of 19 netbooks which all fall under $350 and come with a 9 inch display or 10 inch. The Asus Eee PC 1000HA, Lenovo IdeaPad S10, Acer Aspire One D150 and MSI Wind U100 are all Toshiba Tecra 9100 Battery available for $349. The MSI Wind U100 is also available for $299 and comes with a 3 cell battery. The $349.99 U100 comes with a 6 cell battery and in pink. Likewise the MSI Wind U120 comes in under $350 with a price tag of $319.99 and a 6 cell battery.
The HP Mini 1000 Mi Edition is available in a 10 inch or 8.9 inch model, priced at $279.99 for the 8.9 inch and an additional $40 to upgrade to a 10 inch display. The standard HP Mini 1000 comes in at just under $300, priced at $298.97, along with the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ($299) and the Asus Eee PC 900HA ($293.99). The upgraded 904HA is available for $15 more at $308.40 bringing with it a larger keyboard like you’d find on a 10 inch model. The Acer Aspire One with a 160GB hard drive teeters on the $300 mark with a 3 cell battery, but a 6 cell battery model will add an extra $30 to the price tag. Where as the 8GB SSD version with Linux will set you back $273.28. Interestingly, the XP model is cheaper at $239.
Other 9 inch netbooks noted in the list include the Dell Inspiron Mini 9n ($249), refurbished Eee PC 900s which sell for $180 and Toshiba Satellite 1900 Battery the Eee PC 901 ($279.99).

Asus Eee PC for Dummies

You’d know when something becomes popular if it already has a “for Dummies” book up on its Toshiba Satellite A100 Battery sleeve. If you’re familiar with titles in the for Dummies book series, you’d know what I mean. And our favorite netbook just got a book of its own - the Asus Eee PC for Dummies.
The Eee PC spectrum has certainly grown into a bigger proportion since it was released last year. We’ve seen so many variations and models, we’ve seen various blogs dedicated to the Eee PC (including ours of course), we’ve read and covered Toshiba Laptop Battery news coverages, product launches, various hacks, accessories and what-have-you’s. Battery safety needs scrutiny

The safety of rechargeableToshiba PA3506U-1BRS Battery that make today's mobile lifestyle possible - they are used to power notebook PCs, navigation equipment and cell phones, for example - needs to come under scrutiny in the wake of recent accidents.
Last week, LG Electronics said it is offering free safety checks and battery replacements for Z series notebook PCs that were sold between January and December 2007.
The move comes after two reported cases of notebook PC battery explosions. The rechargeable lithium batteries overheated. The batteries were made by LG Chemical. The move to offer free battery replacements is an attempt to allay customer anxieties over the safety of the notebook PCs and falls short of recalling the products as any safety investigation by a third party could take as long as six months.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics, which was involved in a similar incident, has no plans to offer Toshiba PA3591U-1BRS Battery comparable services.
While the companies claim that these were isolated incidents, the number of accidents involving rechargeable lithium batteries reported to the Korea Consumer Agency, a consumer advocacy group, has been on the increase.
The total number of complaints, while small at 38, has been on a steady rise - nine cases were reported in 2005, 12 in 2006 and 15 last year.
In response to growing concerns over the safety of rechargeable lithium batteries, the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards has been reviewing safety standards for lithium ion batteries since December last year. A new standard should be enforced as soon as possible.
The taskforce Toshiba Portege 4000 Battery should thoroughly investigate accidents involving such batteries to discover the causes and draw up necessary safety measures to prevent future accidents.
Manufacturers need to do a better job of alerting consumers to safety precautions. Rechargeable lithium batteries, while convenient, pose safety threats when not used properly. Using them in high-temperature environments is potentially dangerous, for example.
More than 600 million lithium ion batteries a year are manufactured in the Republic of Korea, making up for 30 percent of the global market for the batteries.
Manufacturers should not have to be reminded of the recall of 10 million Sony batteries used in notebook PCs in 2006 before the company improved its safety standards, which cost the company more than $400 million Toshiba Satellite A10 Series Battery in replacements.

Two years ago, software designer Ian McFarland bought a Toshiba PA3084U-1BRS Battery Vaio Music Clip, but after finding it slow to download music and ``no fun to use,'' he returned it.
He then tried a CD MP3 player, but rejected it as too ''clunky'' and listened to music on his laptop, until one day in a store, he found the iPod.
In December, McFarland decided to buy Apple Computer Inc.'s iPod MP3 player, which he now takes with him everywhere.
Among the reasons: In contrast to the one-hour capacity of Music Clip, McFarland estimates his iPod holds up to 20 hours of music, just over 600 songs, leaving him with 1.3 Gigabytes of storage space free.
``I love having my whole record collection with me while I'm driving,'' said McFarland, who Toshiba PA3399U-1BRS Battery makes regular trips to Los Angeles from his home in San Francisco, where he works as a consultant and is writing a book about Java.
At a retail price of $399, the iPod is pricier than other MP3 players, but its 1,000-song, 5-Gigabyte capacity, convenient size and sleek interface are attracting music lovers and geeks alike.

IPod buyers are willing to pay a premium for a small form factor and large storage capacity, analysts said. There is no other digital audio MP3 player available that holds as much music and is as small as the iPod.
Flash memory-based MP3 players are small, but don't hold many songs, while other hard drive-based players tend to be much bigger.
For example, the Rio Sonicblue 800, which sells for $225 to $300, is slightly smaller but has only 128-Megabyte flash memory and holds only four hours of music. Both the Rio Sonicblue 800 and the iPod feature batteries that last 10 Toshiba PA3250U-1BRS Battery hours.
Meanwhile, the 6-Gigabyte Nomad Jukebox from Creative Technology Ltd., priced from $200 to $300, has more storage, but weighs more than twice as much as the 6.5-ounce iPod and is about four times as big, according to Stan Ng, product line manager for the iPod. ``The iPod is less expensive on a per-megabyte basis,'' said Susan Kevorkian, a research analyst at International Data Corp. in Mountain View, California. She predicted iPod prices will drop as more hard drive makers enter the growing market.
Only iPod uses Firewire technology allowing for download rates of up to 30 times the speed of other devices. Users can download 1000 songs in less than 10 minutes, while simultaneously recharging the battery, Ng said.
The iPod works with Apple's iTunes music jukebox technology, automatically transferring new songs onto the device when the iPod is connected to the computer.
Apple has skirted the piracy problem by giving the iPod only one-way transfer capability. Users can download songs to their iPod from only oneToshiba PA3356U-1BRS Battery machine and cannot transfer them from the iPod to any other device.

MACINTOSH ONLY -- FOR NOW

``The Mac community is backing it as their MP3 player,'' said Tim Bajarin, president of Creative Strategies in San Jose, California.

Matsushita to tap local PC market

Japan's Matsushita Electric, one of the world's top Toshiba Laptop Battery home appliance makers, plans to sell notebook computers in China, making its first foray into the galloping, but cut-throat, local PC market.
"China's PC market has been expanding despite a worldwide slump, which has prompted us to tap into the local PC market," said Ryoji Uchida, a manager in charge of Matsushita's PC sales in China.
A factory based in Xiamen, a coastal city in East China's Fujian Province, will produce notebook computers for Matsushita, Uchida told Business Weekly.
Matsushita is the sole investor in the factory.
Matsushita Electric (China) will be responsible for sales of its notebook computers in China.
The company, best known for its National and Panasonic brands, will sell two laptop models in China.
"We are hoping Matsushita can build up a well-known Toshiba PA3191U-1BRS Battery brand in China's PC sector, following its great success in China's home appliance market," Uchida said.
He acknowledged it will not be easy for Matsushita to take market share from already well-established players.
"We are in an unfavourable position compared with top players such as Dell and Toshiba, which have large production volumes and have controlled their costs very well," he said.
"Thus, as part of our initial PC strategy in China, we will try to tap into niche markets by developing and producing what our rivals do not have."
The first two models introduced by Matsushita to the Chinese market will be the "Toughbook" series. The computers will weigh 990 grams and 1.09 kilograms.
Both will be ultra-thin, with batteries that last about five hours.
"These two models will be aimed at young Chinese business people who have high demands for mobile offices, especially Chinese women," Uchida said.
Booming, but tough market in China

Next year's sales will depend on market conditions, he added.
Analysts suggest the target is a bit conservative, given the market is expanding and Matsushita's sprawling sales channels for home appliances and digital products will help it compete and stake out a larger share of the laptop market.

Local vendors such as Great Wall, Langchao and Hisense have pulled out of the notebook business due to difficulties in gaining market share.
"It would be better for Matsushita to seek partnerships with local players, as their expertise in the PC market, combined with Matsushita's clout in the home appliance sector, would help Matsushita cement its footing in the notebook business," Toshiba PA3098U-1BRS Battery the analyst said.

While the MSI Wind U123 looks identical to the older U120, MSI has updated this 10-inch Toshiba Laptop Battery with Intel’s newest Atom N280 processor, which provides slightly improved performance. Also, the U123 sports a new nine-cell battery, which, while making it heavier than most other netbooks, provides more than 8 hours of runtime, earning it the title of the longest-lasting netbook on the market. At $379, the MSI Wind U123 is easily one of the best netbook bargains around.
Design
The Wind U123 sports the same chassis as the U120, which is not quite Toshiba PA2487U Battery as snazzy or slim as the HP Mini 1000 or Dell Inspiron Mini 10. MSI claims that the U123’s design is for adults and business professionals, but the HP Mini 2140’s aluminum chassis seems more appropriate for that market segment. A glossy navy blue lid (also available in white, red, black, and gray) covers the outside of the netbook and is offset by a black underside and glossy screen bezel.

Roomy Keyboard, Subpar Mouse Buttons
The keyboard on the U123 is the same as that on the original Wind and the U120. Display and Audio
Typical of other netbooks with 10.2-inch, LED-backlit, 1024 x 600-pixel Toshiba PA3384U-1BRS Battery displays, the U120’s screen allowed us to view Web pages without having to scroll. The matte LCD produced clear images and bright colors. The 1000HE, which is outfitted with a high capacity six-cell battery, got over 7 hours of battery life on our Web surfing battery test. The lady with the HP Mini 1000 (with a 3-cell battery) however, had a power cord laptop battery stretched across the table and connected to the wall (I suspect that her coffee had turned cold by the time the table next to that socket freed up). That netbook, while more compact than most on the market, gets only 2.5 hours on a charge.
There are a handful of netbooks, including the ASUS Eee PC 1000HE and the Samsung N110, that don’t have to be accompanied by their power cords for a day trip, because their standard six-cell batteries provide over five hours of battery life on a single charge. And it is that type of netbook that should be standard in this crowded market. But it isn’t.
Many netbook manufacturers, including Dell, HP, and Lenovo, seem reluctant to ship devices with extended batteries, saddling users with 3-cell systems that last just over two hours. Currently, Dell only offers its Mini 9 and 10 with a 4-cell battery. HP does offer an upgrade to a 6-cell for Sony VGP-BPS5 battery $79, but most models come standard with a 3-cell battery.
The reasoning behind this? The reigning theory is that it has to do with price, but manufacturers also seem to think that people don’t want to use undersized netbooks with 10-inch screens and cramped keyboards for more than a few hours at a time, so what does it matter, anyway?
But that is just not the case. Even if you won’t use a netbook for more than two hours at a time, one of the best use cases for netbooks involves pulling it out of your bag to shoot off an e-mail or surf the Web for an hour and simply tossing it back in your bag when you are done. It is anywhere, anytime computing, and that “where” often includes places where there are outlets.
A few months ago, we asked LAPTOP readers in an online poll how much Sony VGP-BPS8 battery power was enough for a netbook. The overwhelming answer was 5 to 8 hours.
Some of the largest notebook vendors are crippling their netbooks by bundling them with 3-cell batteries.
